Help me raise money for Climbing for Kids!
Having undergone a couple of back surgeries last year to fix a debilitating injury, I feel very blessed this year to have my strength and fitness return to normal. For years I've taken my fitness for granted; now I know it's a gift and I'd like to celebrate my recovery by giving something back.
In September a group of us will climb Mt Rainier, a sponsored expedition for 'Climbing for Kids' a Bay Area Wilderness Training project that funds training and equipment for at-risk kids to get out of the city and spend time in the wilderness : http://www.climbingforkids.org/bawt/ . Having personally benefited from a lifelong connection to nature, this charity is close to my heart.
" - Bay Area Wilderness Training believes that safe, well-led educational wilderness trips change young urban lives for the better, and that meeting wilderness challenges makes us stronger in mind, body, spirit and ability. Wilderness - like no other teacher - introduces us to first-hand lessons in personal growth, renewal and what to do to help protect and preserve the earth."
